The Bill Willams Fund
The Bill Williams Fund
The Long Mynd Adventure Camp is a Charity which was started by Bill Williams, a local police officer, with the objective of offering a holiday for children from the Black Country who would not normally be able to leave the town environment.
The Camp has grown and developed with over 1,000 young people using the facilities each year. We keep our hire charges as low as we can to allow as many groups as possible to come to us. However, we appreciate that the overall cost of visiting may still be too much for some groups.
In order to preserve Bill’s original vision, there is a fund available, ‘The Bill Williams Fund’. For organisations who would like to bring groups of less fortunate children to the Camp it is possible to apply for assistance from this fund which could cover, free accommodation, transport, food etc.
In cases where not every member of a prospective group requires assistance, we are happy to consider the circumstances of individuals within the group.
Funds are limited, so we may not be able to meet every request. However, we will consider every application.
There is a short electronic questionnaire to be completed which will be reviewed by the Trustees of the Charity and a decision communicated to the applicant.
